Minimum Qualifications
Certified Professional Coder (CPC®), CCS®, or equivalent coding credential
Minimum of 3 years of medical coding experience
Minimum of 2 years of coding audit experience (preferred)
Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT®, and HCPCS Level II coding systems
Strong understanding of CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines
Experience auditing E/M services and specialty-specific coding
Knowledge of NCCI edits, modifier usage, and medical necessity requirements
Familiarity with OIG compliance guidance and regulatory requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
Ability to work independently while meeting established deadlines
Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
Ability to prepare clear, concise audit reports and educational feedback
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
