Minimum Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC®), CCS®, or equivalent coding credential

  • Minimum of 3 years of medical coding experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of coding audit experience (preferred)

  • Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT®, and HCPCS Level II coding systems

  • Strong understanding of CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines

  • Experience auditing E/M services and specialty-specific coding

  • Knowledge of NCCI edits, modifier usage, and medical necessity requirements

  • Familiarity with OIG compliance guidance and regulatory requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities

  • Ability to work independently while meeting established deadlines

  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word

  • Ability to prepare clear, concise audit reports and educational feedback

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
